Aug 30, 2025Chase Elliott, 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion and seven-time winner of the NMPA Most Popular Driver Award, embarks on his 10th full-time season at stock car racing’s top level with a mission of securing a second title. The 29-year-old will once again pilot the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 led by veteran crew chief Alan Gustafson. Together, they’ve driven to 19 points-paying victories and are the longest-tenured driver-crew chief pairing in the Cup Series garage.
NASCAR Cup Series champion crew chief Alan Gustafson is back for his 20th season with Hendrick Motorsports, pairing up with six-time most popular driver Chase Elliott on the No. 9 program for the 10th year. Over their first nine seasons together, the duo has amassed 19 points-paying victories, a premier series title and an All-Star Race victory. Gustafson is currently the third-winningest active crew chief in the Cup Series with 39 victories.
